East: Ancestors and Guardians of the East, we invite you to play with us in this ritual space. We call on you to lend us ease of thought, clear communication, and surefootedness. Lead us into a new dawn in life. We welcome you spirits of the east.
 

South: Ancestors and Guardians of the South, we invite you to play with us in this ritual space.  We call on you to lend us passion and fire, and to help guide us into our own creative energies. Awaken action in our hearts. We welcome you spirits of the south.
 

West: Ancestors and Guardians of the West, we invite you to play with us in this ritual space. We call on you to lend is access to our deepest emotions and to the wisdom of your watery depths. Help us flow into our most fertile selves. We welcome you spirits of the west.
 

North: Ancestors and Guardians of the North, we invite you to play with us in this ritual space. We call on you to lend us the powers of manifestation and wise action. Ground the work we do here. We welcome you Spirits of the North.

Invoking the God and the Goddess as Father and Mother:

Intro to rite: why here, what we will be doing?
We are here to present roland as a child to the god, goddess, spirits and ancestors, to help us guide him in his journey as a child of the divine. We are also dedicating ourselves as teachers, parents and friends to his spiritual journey. The next generation has been born into our family, our legacy. in this ritual We pledge to be with this child, this beautiful boy, always. Apart but never separate, free but never alone. He is one of us, and because of that we will bless him with all the goodness that we are. We are welcoming him to our family.

The challenges

Magnolia: [Mother] and [Father], have you chosen a name for your child?

Magnolia: and to our community, how do you call this child:

Magnolia: [Mother] and [Father], you have been charged by the gods with the duties of raising this child and cultivating his spiritual growth and development, do you accept them, freely and without reservation?
M&F: yes
Magnolia: and to the gathered community, you have been charged by the gods with the duties of helping [Mother] and [Father] raise Roland, and providing support and love while cultivating his spiritual growth and development, do you accept this challenge?

M&F: Magnolia, we have chosen you as the priestess for this rite, and as our child’s goddess mother, do you accept this challenge of helping us with roland’s spiritual growth and development?
Magnolia: yes

Group Prayer for [Mother] and [Father]:

Mother Goddess, bless these parents with strength, unity and love. May they ever draw from your deepest wells of wisdom and courage. May they continue to be nurturing and stable, full of endurance and strength,

Father God, bless these parents with passion and intellect. May they continue to fall in love with each other each day. May they blow away strife, and carry positive thought into their child’s life.

Small Mediation on bead = gifts to the child and the presentation/offering/stringing of beads pass the bowl of beads around until it is empty. then do a meditation on the gifts of the spirit, then have the bowl repassed for people to place those beads in the bowl.
(At  this point we can have people just say I wish for you: health, happiness, composure, what-have-you as gifts of the spirit for the family and for roland)

Mother and Child part of the circle with everyone - start start soft go louder, with beads in the middle of the circle, walking around deosil the beads pouring the energy into them after they have been meditated on. thus concentrating them. raise energy, pool/ground it into the beads.the blessing oil is also in the bowl with the beads, also getting energy.

Magnolia takes anoints roland then says while Father holds:

Closing Words
As adults coming into the Craft, we tend to emphasize the rite of initiation into the mysteries. Yet, as important as that is, initiation is only one of many rites of passage to be experienced in a lifetime. Roland has experienced his first rite of passage and his first Circle. May the Gods grant that the members of this community will be there to guard and guide him as he grows to reach other rites of passage.

Dismissal/Closing
    We give thanks to the spirits of the north. Help us as we leave this circle to manifest our dreams. We give thanks to the Earth.
    We give thanks to the spirits of the west. Help us hold our deepest heart’s desires strong as we leave this circle. We give thanks to Water.
​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​    We give thanks to spirits of the south. Keep our fires of fertility and creativity strong as we leave this circle. We give thanks to Fire.  
    We give thanks to spirits of the east. Help us to move into a new phase of life and to speak our truths. We give thanks to Air.
